Putting the Fun Back in Food
Remember when food was fun and cooking was something you enjoyed, not just endured? At The Chef’s Hat, our goal is to help you reclaim your cooking creativity and give you the confidence to try new recipes, new techniques, and new cuisines.
We’re not trying to turn you into the next Michelin-starred chef. We’re just trying to help everyday cooks, be they kitchen veterans or fresh-off-the-vine, learn how to prepare the foods they love and have fun while doing it.
This is culinary entertainment. This is The Chef’s Hat.
Meet Our Chefs
Ivan Jeanblanc is the head chef, principal, and brains behind The Chef’s Hat. He’s been doing it all in our kitchen since 2013.
Ivan studied at the Culinary Institute of America and in programs throughout France. Cooking is his passion—and he’s eager to share that passion with everyone who passes through the kitchen at The Chef’s Hat.
He believes that all a great cook really needs is a sharp chef’s knife, some cast iron skillets, a heavy-duty stockpot, a semi-automated cherry pitter, and a desire to see a recipe through—from raw ingredients to the plate.
He’s happiest when he’s teaching “Brunch Fun,” cooking with burrata, cilantro, ancho or chipotle chile powder, and cherries—or when he’s eating brisket hash with parsnips and Swiss chard.
We periodically welcome Visiting Chefs into our kitchen. These chefs come from local restaurants, as well as schools and restaurants from around the world. They teach everything from Boot Camps to themed cooking classes. Check our Calendar to find one of these events.
